How to determine group membership for a user

To determine which Group a user has membership to a number of different methods can be used

Having the ability to find out where a user is a member of a group is important if changes have to be made to any of the allocations.

Group membership can be found as follows:

  • Search for the user from within a specific group
  • Use the Add to Groups menu to see which groups the user is already a member of
  • Use the Groups Filter in Learner Insights Report

Search for the user from within a specific group

  1. Go to Users and Groups > Groups.
  2. Select a group to view the membership details.
  3. Search for the user by name to check if they are a member of the group.
  4. The user will be displayed if they are a member, otherwise No Results Found will be displayed.

Use the Add to Groups menu

  1. Go to Users and Groups > Users.
  2. Search for the user by name so they appear in the list.
  3. Select Add to Groups from the 3-dot menu for the selected user.
  4. A list of groups will be displayed.
  5. Any group the user is already a member of will be greyed out.

Use the Groups Filter in Learner Insights Report

  1. Go to Insights > Learners Report.
  2. Search for the user by name so they appear in the list.
  3. Expand the Groups Filter to see the list of groups the user is a member of.
