Why won't Face ID validate my face
Learn how you can adjust the environment to ensure your Face ID registration or login works
When registering your face for Face ID or trying to login using Face ID, the system will scan your face to register or authenticate your access.
In certain conditions the system may not be able to perform the scan successfully which means you can't register your face or can't login to Forget Me Not® Freestanding.
There are some things you can do to try and ensure the scan is successful.
- Ensure there is adequate lighting near the camera so that you face is clearly showing on the scan area
- Ensure you are at the correct distance from the camera so that you ful face is visible in the scanning area. Too close and the system won't be able to scan all of your face. Too far away and the system won't be able to get enough facial details for a successful scan
- Ensure there is nothing blocking the camera on the device. This could impact the camera scanning abilities
- Ensure you are forward facing and looking directly at the camera. If you head is turned too much to the side a successful scan will not be possible
