About Standard Enrolment Mode
Learn how standard mode enrolments are used to let learners build their knowledge in a series by using spaced repetition learning to step through the content over time.
The standard mode is an enrolment type option that is applied by default to all series at the time of enrolling learners. It is designed to give learners the opportunity to attempt all questions in the series, over a number of sessions, spaced out over time, thereby giving them the ability to master a series in a number of days or weeks depending on the parameters set.
The benefit of Standard Mode is that a learner can embed the topic knowledge using spaced repetition without being overloaded.
Standard mode uses the default delivery parameters that the series has, and applies the following values:
- Mastery Goal: the number of times the learner will need to answer correctly in a row
- Question per day (QPD): limits the number of questions given per day so as not to give cognitive overload
Standard mode is the best way for learners to embed the knowledge in a series and over time obtain mastery in the topic. If they don't know the content, then by answering a question incorrectly, they will get feedback and they are given the question again in a few days. If they answer questions correctly, they will get them spaced out further each time until they master the series.
✅If you want a learner to show recognition of prior knowledge then you can choose to use Burst Mode instead of Standard Mode
