What happens if Pathways, Series or Question Sets are updated that are part of a pathway?

Learn how making updates to pathways, series or question sets is possible however there are limitations.

You have done the hard work and created a number of question sets using the Question Builder and you've published them all and made them into Series 🎉. These series have now been added to a Learning Pathway and you've just enrolled a number of learners into the pathway.

You can sit back and monitor the progress of learners through the pathway until they complete all series.

But then you think...

  • What happens if I want to make changes or add more series to a pathway?
  • What happens if I want to change the cover image or title of the series to align with changes within your organisation?
  • What happens if I find an issue with a question and need to update it?

These are common questions that get asked, and thankfully there is an answer to each of them.

Changes to the Pathway

  • Do changes to the pathway apply to all learners enrolled in the pathway? No, learners enrolled in the pathway won't see any changes made to the pathway. Changes will only apply to new enrolments in the pathway
  • Can I add an extra series to the pathway?
    • YES - but only learners enrolled in the pathway after the series have been added will be enrolled in that series
    • NO - any learner already enrolled in the pathway won't see the added series as it was not part of the pathway they were enrolled in

Changes to the Series

  • Do updates to a series flow automatically through to the pathway? Yes but it depends on the learner's enrolment status
    • YES - Updates to the series will only apply to In Progress or future enrolments
    • NO - Updates to the series will not apply to Mastered Series

Changes to the Question Set

  • Do published updates to a question set flow through to the pathway? Yes but it depends on the enrolment status
    • YES - Updates to a question set will be seen by those learners that have not yet started the series that the question set belongs to
    • NO - Updates to a question set won't be seen by those learners that have already mastered or started the series that the question set belongs to
