How to get learners ready for their first enrolment

The first time learners are enrolled they will need to onboard to Forget Me Not® and it's best for them to be prepared

The first time learners are enrolled in a Series or enrolled in a Pathway they will need to onboard to the Learner App which requires 3 easy steps or login in straight away with Learner Web:

✅ The following steps and all the required onboarding information are provided to the learner in the Enrolment Invitation Email

  1. Download and install the app from the app store using the provided links in the email
  2. Login to the app using their email and provided password
  3. Opening the app and start answering questions in the series.

Sounds simple right? but as with anything there may be some bumps along the way for some people. To ensure a smooth onboarding experience, the following things can be done to help:

Let them know what's coming

If people know what's about to happen, they will be more open to the change and will expect to get an email and know to install Forget Me Not® Learner App on their phone or access Learner Web.

  • It's a great idea to send out a communication via a company channel a few days prior to the enrolment and let them know they will receive the Series Invitation Email from Forget Me Not®. If they know to expect it, they won't delete it or mark it as spam.
  • In the same communication you can also let them know which email account they will need to login-in with, their personal email or work email that was used for account registration.
  • Also let them know that they might need to use their personal phone and that an app needs to be installed. The phone may also need to be available to use during the day for learning activities.
  • If people have work provided phones, check to make sure they have the ability to install apps directly from the app store as some company setups restrict store access and require all apps to be pushed to the phone by your IT department (Mobile Device Management)

Hints and Tips for a smooth onboarding experience

  • Check in Spam / Junk folder - sometimes the first email that comes from a new external organisation can end up in spam/junk folder. Emails need to be marked as 'not spam' and moved to the inbox before any of the links will work.
  • Some people may have enable app install protection which requires App Store credentials to be entered before an app can be installed. They will need to know their app store account before they can complete the installation process.
  • Let people know they can personalise the app experience to suit their own needs. This includes
    • Adjusting the time to receive notifications
    • Adjusting the days to receive notifications
    • Setting the method to receive notifications
    • Adjusting the sound settings
  • Apple users will need to accept the notifications prompt before any messages can be sent to the user's phone. If they skip this they will not get push notifications until they set it correctly.
